What BasketScout receives
BasketScout may receive your email address for sign-in, trial billing, support, or the Android waitlist. Product URLs, descriptions, country, optional postcode, saved products, and alert preferences are used to provide the service.
AI product normalization
When enabled, a product description and limited product metadata may be sent to an OpenAI model to normalize the request. BasketScout does not ask the model to create prices, retailer stock claims, or invented product links.
Receipt and spreadsheet imports
Uploads are processed in memory and are not saved as files by BasketScout. Spreadsheet extraction runs on our server without sending the spreadsheet to an AI provider. With your explicit consent, a receipt image or PDF is sent to OpenAI to draft product names and quantities. Remove personal, payment and loyalty information before uploading. The entire file, including every PDF page and embedded text, is transmitted and may contain such information even though the extraction asks to exclude it.
Receipt requests disable OpenAI response storage, but OpenAI processes requests under its own data policies and applicable retention controls. This does not mean zero provider retention. You review the draft before saving. Reviewed names and quantities are stored in your private shopping list, alongside minimal import retry metadata; receipt prices are not stored as retailer price evidence. Deleting a list removes its items, while an import identifier and payload hash remain to prevent accidental recreation by a retry.
Payments
Payment details are handled by the configured payment provider. BasketScout does not store full card numbers.
